Salzgitter AG showcases steel and technology

This year’s motto at the EuroBlech trade fair in Hanover is “Quality, Flexibility, Productivity.“ The event will take place from October 21 to 25, 2008, and has attracted more than 1,300 exhibitors from more than 30 countries worldwide - including Salzgitter AG with 10 Group companies.

“Euroblech is an attractive platform to present our wide range of offerings and dialog with our customers,“ says Bernd Gersdorff, head of corporate communication at Salzgitter AG.

The Group will be on location at Stand F06, in Hall 16, which is easily accessible from the north entry of the fairgrounds. As last year, a series of talks and presentations followed by discussion rounds will be on the agenda. This year’s topics include the following: new products from SZAG’s hot strip slitting line, hydroforming, the utilization of multi-phase steels, magnesium technologies and MagiZinc surface coating. The presentations will be given by Salzgitter Group experts and customers.

In view of its wide range of highly diverse applications, steel is the number one industrial material. Steel is also the number one material with regard to recycling. This is aptly show-cased by an installation at the trade fair stand. The installation demonstrates how steel scrap is recycled and returned to the materials cycle where it enters into the production of a side section of a new automobile. When the vehicle’s service life ends, the section will be recycled again as scrap.
