North German Minister Presidents visit the Salzgitter AG stand

The three Minister Presidents Stephan Weil, Torsten Albig and Erwin Sellering of the North German federal states of Lower Saxony, Schleswig-Holstein and Mecklenburg-Vorpommern visited the Salzgitter trade fair stand on Wednesday.

The group of visitors learned about the fair exhibit from the Salzgitter subsidiary KHS under the heading of Industry 4.0. As part of the Direct Print Machine (direct printing on PET bottles), RFID tags are used to simulate pucks - intelligent workpiece carriers for the transport and alignment of PET bottles. Depending on the respective configuration, the display of the HMI (Human Machine Interface) as well as that of the tablet reacts to the changed data situation and automatically adjusts the necessary documentation dynamically.

The Minister Presidents were guided and accompanied by Prof. Dr.-Ing. Heinz Jörg Fuhrmann, Chief Executive Officer of Salzgitter AG, Chief Financial Officer Burckhard Becker, Chief Personnel Officer Michael Kieckbusch, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Matthias Niemeyer (Head of the Technology Business Unit) and Dr. Sebastian Bross, General Manager of Salzgitter Flachstahl GmbH.

Another exhibit highlight that attracted the particular interest of the group of visitors was the MAN truck cab from the TGL range, Type L10C. SZFG supplies MAN with various grades of steel. The cab comprises components made from soft steels for cold forming.
