Salzgitter AG engages in dialog at the Hanover Trade Fair

The Hanover Trade Fair is the world's largest meeting place for industry. Salzgitter AG is located right at its heart, in Hall 6, stand F02 in the Leading Industrial Supply Trade Fair.

The trade fair was off to a good start. The trade fair stand and the Customer Day on Tuesday were well attended. "Our concept of using the trade fair as a platform for dialoging with customers and partners has definitely proved its worth", said Bernhard Kleinermann, head of Salzgitter AG's Corporate Communication.

"With the various activities at our trade fair stand, our participation in the Job&Career Market and our Customer Day, we address a wide variety of target groups".

Peter Altmaier, Germany's Federal Minister of the Environment, informed himself about the Belt Casting Technology developed by Salzgitter AG and SMS and the HSD® (High Strength and Ductility) steel developed by Salzgitter. This steel features a high manganese content, alloyed with aluminum and silicon. Thanks to its mechanical and technological properties, HSD® steel is set off distinctly from conventional high and highest strength steel materials. The visit was occasioned by a grant of the German Federal Ministry of Research and Development accorded under the Environmental Innovation Program for the construction of a plant for manufacturing HSD steel strips.

The Salzgitter Group is showcasing an array of exhibits and processes at the Hanover Trade Fair from 8 to 12 April 2013 demonstrating the key role that steel plays in light-weight construction, energy efficiency and the conservation of resources.
