Salzgitter AG establishes representative office in Berlin

Salzgitter AG is strengthening its presence in Berlin. Effective from 01.04.2023, the Group has established a permanent representation in the federal capital, headed by Lizzie Herzog.

"Salzgitter AG is facing up to the major upheavals occurring in our economy and society and is taking a leading role in the transformation of our industry towards climate neutrality. In this context, the Group's political communications are of particular importance. So I am all the more delighted to be the face of Salzgitter AG in the political capital Berlin," Lizzie Herzog emphasized.

As Gunnar Groebler, Chief Executive Officer of Salzgitter AG, added: “We as the Salzgitter Group take our responsibility to society and to future generations very seriously. With our SALCOS® – Salzgitter Low CO₂ Steelmaking program, we are pioneering the decarbonization of the steel industry, and as early as 2033 we will be producing steel on a virtually CO₂-neutral basis. In these undertakings, we are dependent on operating within internationally competitive conditions. Therefore we will be continuing and intensifying our constructive dialog with decision-makers at federal levels through our Berlin office.”

Lizzie Herzog (36) studied European politics in Britain, Italy and Germany and was most recently employed by a firm of auditors and consultants in the field of public & regulatory affairs and as head of communication for digital services.
