Salzgitter AG has won the “2013 Germany company health award” in the “demography - fit for the future” category. The award will be presented by the BKK Bundesverband (Federal Association of Company Health Insurance Schemes) on December 4, 2013 in Berlin. Salzgitter AG has been implementing the “GO – The Generation Offensive 2025” project since 2005 and is pursuing a cross-generational approach.
Michael Kieckbusch, Executive Board member responsible for human resources, explained: “Our goal is to ensure that our employees remain healthy and well-motivated until they enter retirement. The “GO - The Generation Offensive 2025” project has put us on the right track to tackle the demographic challenges. The project therefore makes a significant contribution to ensuring the future viability of the Salzgitter Group.”
The company is deploying a wide range of solutions, such as its own company fitness center, advice on the work-life balance, private old-age pension opportunities, target-group-specific staff development programs and knowledge transfer.
A key element of the GO project is the activities in the field of healthcare management. Thanks to close interaction between the relevant parties, such as the company doctor, BKK Salzgitter (the company health insurance scheme) and the old-age pension scheme, the employees concerned obtain rapid and targeted support aimed at ensuring their return to the workplace.
