Special BKK award for Salzgitter AG - Exemplary health management in the Group honored

Every year the BKK Bundesverband (Federal Association of Company Health Insurance Funds) awards the German Corporate Healthcare prize. The special prize in the "Mental Health" category was conferred on Salzgitter AG in Berlin on November 19, 2012.

Salzgitter AG's "Arbeitsmedizinischer Dienst" (occupational health service) collaborates closely with BKK Salzgitter, TU Braunschweig's Outpatient Psychotherapy, Hannover Medical School and Deutsche Rentenversicherung Braunschweig Hannover in the field of "psychological disorders".

Dr. Birgit Leineweber of BKK Salzgitter explained that "our goal is to channel the right patient into the right therapy within a shorter space of time – closely supported by our health insurance scheme". Peter-Jürgen Schneider, Salzgitter AG's Chief Personnel Officer, added that "a swift return to the workplace is also a declared goal of the partners".

The prize is awarded to companies and organizations that excel in health care management, and that not only focus their activities on the individual's behavior but also successfully implement measures to optimize working conditions and view occupational health management as an integral part of their corporate strategies.
