Child holiday care at Salzgitter AG

Salzgitter AG is providing its employees vacation care for children of primary school age at the Salzgitter Campus. The offerings includes a total of four weeks of child holiday care per year - one week each in the Easter and autumn vacations and two weeks in the summer vacations. Every week, 40 places are available.
 
From 7:15 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., the children are cared for on the company's premises by external pedagogical specialists. Child holiday care was launched at Salzgitter Flachstahl GmbH in 2019 and extended to cover the entire site in 2023. The offerings are free of charge for the families.
 
A highly varied program provides for fun and entertainment: In addition to handicrafts, board games, magic shows or excursions, activities related to the company are on the agenda on a regular basis. These include, for example, tours of the Salzgitter plant site and visits to the plant fire department or the plant security dog squad. This year, additional activities on the topics of first aid and healthy nutrition will be organized by our plant fire department and in cooperation with our company’s health insurance fund.
 
Many parents face the challenge of organizing childcare during the vacations when their children start school. Our child holiday care supports parents at this point in time and makes welcome contributions to the compatibility of family and work. Since the care is provided in close proximity to the parents' workplace, families also benefit from short commutes, which further reduces time constraints and provides relief during the vacation season.
