The Golden Gate Bridge in San Francis- co is currently being fitted with a steel safety net. Work began in 2018 and is scheduled for completion this year. The net should prevent anyone from falling to their death. Although safety officers and passers-by save hundreds of peo- ple annually at the last second, more than 30 people die here every year.
