Dialoging with customers - The Salzgitter Group at the Hannover Trade Fair

Under the motto of "Whatever your plans may be", the Salzgitter Group will be present at two lead fairs under the roof of the Hannover Trade Fair: at the Subcontracting in Hall 5, Stand A14 and at the Pipeline Technology, Hall 27, Stand J10.

Subcontracting

At the Subcontracting trade fair, the focus is on the material steel and products made of steel. Taking various projects as examples, fairgoers will learn more about how various different Group companies join forces and work on system solutions together with partners and clients. ScaLight is a salient example in case. Salzgitter Group companies have teamed up with Karmann GmbH to create a scalable bodyshell architecture based on steel spaceframe design. The ScaLight concept enables cost efficient, automotive lightweight construction solutions. On this foundation, various vehicle types such as convertibles, roadsters and Sports Utility Convertibles of various different brands can be manufactured. Modern, state of the art steels manufactured by Salzgitter Flachstahl GmbH are indispensable in the realization of the ScaLight concept. Multiphase steels in particular offer tremendous lightweight engineering potential. In view of their high material strength, in combination with good formability while retaining excellent strength properties, these steels are the ideal material for modern lightweight constructions. These steel grades cover a wide range of applications in the production of parts and components characterized by complex geometries. Ranking as the absolute highlight at the stand, the 1001 hp Bugatti Veyron 16.4 will be on display. Salzgitter Automotive Engineering GmbH provides virtually all aluminum outer skin panels for this exceptional automobile, and also assembles the bodyshells ready for paintwork at the Osnabrück location.

Pipeline Technology

At this year's Pipeline Technology the key topics revolve around the production, processing and utilization of sour gas resistant steel grades in the large-diameter tube area. Salzgitter AG is in a unique position with its Group companies active in all of the steps involved, ranging from steel production through to the manufacturing of tubes and pipes, and on to customer delivery and services. Salzgitter Mannesmann Forschung GmbH acts as the key competence center for research, development and application consulting.

Salzgitter invites customers to the "Steel Day"

The Group's most important date in Hannover is the Trade Fair Tuesday, hosting the "Steel Day" for customers and partners of Salzgitter AG. Traditionally, this is a welcome occasion for steel branch insiders to meet and mix in a cordial atmosphere and exchange ideas and discuss experience. The event will take place at Pavilion P32.
