CASSAVA BEER FROM MOZAMBIQUE
KHS helps build Africa’s most modern brewery
Bottled beer made from cassava roots – produced with the help of a KHS Innoclean DM bottle washer
In 2011, Cervejas de Moçambique (CDM) launched Africa’s first commercially available cassava beer under the brand name Impala. Made from cassava tubers in a lengthy production process, the re- sult is a beverage with a fruity, yellow and slightly cloudy appearance. With a
healthy head on top once poured, it looks like a lager and tastes remarkably fresh.
CDM wanted to expand the capacity one of its breweries from 1.6 to 6 hectoliters per year, with a recyclable glass bottle
line from KHS at its heart. In an effort to realize these plans swiftly, KHS drew on its international network, engaging haulage contractors from Mexico and technicians from Ukraine, Turkey, Mexi- co and Germany. The system started op- eration in summer 2021.
EUROPIPE FILLS CAPACITY TO 2024
Steel pipes ordered for Norwegian oil and gas pipelines
Equinor ASA and EUROPIPE have signed an agreement on the supply of steel pipes for the Yggdrasil export pipelines. The Yggdrasil oil and gas field is situated at a depth of around 110 m beneath the surface of the North Sea. The contract comprises the supply of 44,000 t of coated pipes, of which 76 km are destined for a gas pipeline and 48 km for an oil pipeline. As a result, EUROPIPE Germany can build on basic capacity utilization through to the second quarter of 2024. The prematerials required for pipe production in this order, such as steel slabs, will be supplied by EUROPIPE’s two shareholders: the Salzgitter Group and AG der Dillinger Hüttenwerke. The EUROPIPE subsidiary MÜLHEIM PIPECOATINGS GmbH is responsible for the pipes’ outer coatings and internal linings.
